Scope of Activities
We would like to continue with a tried and tested system and therefore
resume the success story of the PATECORE project. It has been proven that a
successful combat against poverty on the Central Plateau can be effected by
means of adequate investments in soil conservation. Building stone walls
therefore still has utmost priority.
Main Tasks
Support of the ALCD
The traditional farmers’ groups have proven that they are suited best to
build contour stone walls in large areas. With the foundation of the farmers’
organization ALCD the former state-run project PATECORE was transformed into
a non-governmental organization with new tasks. A new challenge is the
acquisition of grants for financing the transportation of stones. The ALCD
shall be supported technically and financially.
Public Relations/Fundraising
In order to increase the available budget (grants) in Burkina Faso for
soil conservation investments, Terra Verde will promote the project with
specific public relation activities to convince the government and
international donating organizations of the necessity of helping the farmers
to continue their work after PATECORE has stopped, if possible without
interruption.
Organizational Structure / Organizational Chart
Depending on the extent of future tasks Terra-Verde activities can be
delegated to a non-profit organization.
